| Ellen McDonough is an award-winning, self-taught artist whose
passion is beautiful, mystical places whether they exist on
Earth or in her mind's eye.
Though she has done sketches, watercolors and mixed media art, her favorite medium is digital with acrylic painting.
The subject matter is always "mystical sanctuaries" which typically feature classical architecture set against a vibrantly-colored, often other-worldly landscape.
Ellen sees these sanctuaries in her mind's eye, and also gets inspiration from her travels to beautiful, exotic places worldwide.
When designing, Ellen always feels as if these places actually exist; they are not just her imaginings.
Often she will feel presence guiding her, pointing out details of the scene.
Ellen spends warmer months in Boston and cooler months in California where she markets her art as prints and canvas-wraps.
It is Ellen's hope that her designs offer people inspiration, a sense of peace, and a feeling of being taken away to a beautiful respite
far from everyday concerns.
